山火綿延

主日下午剛到家，收到鄰居簡訊，提醒我們家園在第二階段疏散區域，要隨時準備待命。

這不是上週已經開始的火燒點嗎？還沒有撲滅，這兩天刮大風，竟然使火燒面積擴大到，需要我們準備撤離，這真是頭一遭的經驗。

我們短短兩個小時思考，需要打包什麼，重要文件、換洗衣物、家裡主要的電腦用品、寵物的食糧....等等，妹妹從遠方聽見高中同學通報，要我幫忙打包她所有騎馬裝備，那些都是花大錢的東西，燒了可惜，還有她的小豬布偶，她小時候回台灣開手指的刀時，我買給她的安撫玩具。

然後等待。

第三階段的紅色警戒區域已經撤離，Amber Alert響起的聲音非常恐怖，直到快入夜收到電話通知，我們暫時不需撤離，繼續等候通知。氣溫已經下降，夜裡露水凝重，盼望可以使火勢穩定，據說已經焚燒1500英畝地。

我們安睡一晚，隔天中午查看地圖，我們已經脫離危險區域，風已經停止，火勢沒有往南蔓延，家園安全了，把物品歸位。

再隔一天，滿天都是煙層彌漫，又是一個空氣品質很差的一天。

Just arrived home on the Sunday afternoon, and received a text message from a neighbor reminding us that our home is in the second phase of evacuation area and we must be on standby at any time.

Isn't this the point of fire that started last week? It has not been extinguished yet, but the strong wind has blown these two days, and the area of the fire has expanded to a point where we need to prepare for evacuation. This is really the first experience.

We thought about what to pack in just two hours, important documents, a change of clothes, main computer supplies at home, food for pets... etc. My sister heard a report from a high school classmate from afar and asked me to help pack all her riding equipment , Those are things that cost a lot of money, it’s a pity to burn them, and her piggy puppet, the comfort toy I bought for her when she went back to Taiwan to do thumb surgery when she was a child.

Then wait.

The red alert area in the third stage has been evacuated, and the sound of the Amber Alert sounded very scary, until we received a call notification at nightfall, we do not need to evacuate temporarily, and continue to wait for the notification. The temperature had dropped and the nights were heavy with dew, hoping to stabilize the fire, which was said to have burned 1,500 acres.

We had a good night's sleep and checked the map at noon the next day. We were out of the danger zone, the wind had stopped, the fire hadn't spread to the south, our home was safe, and we put our belongings back in place.

Another day, the sky was filled with smoke, and it was another day with poor air quality.
